Position: Line Cook

Location: Waikiki, HI

Pay: This position has a fixed rate of $20/hour 

Experience: 6 months of line cook experience in a similar role preferred.

Type: Full-time; Contract  

Schedule: Dinner Shift, 3:00pm to 10:30pm

Staffing Solutions of Hawaii is seeking a Line Cook to join a growing and dynamic team!   

Job Description:  

1. Use your knife skills to provide standard cuts and sizes and consistent portioning.
2. Sauté, roast, grill, fry, steam, and blanch various foods.
3. Assist with food prep including cutting, chopping, mixing, and sauce preparation.
4. Maintain prep sheets, labeling, dating, and proper food storage.
5. Assist with prep and utility duties while working on a team.
6. Manage tasks efficiently during service and maintain an organized workstation.
7. Efficiently work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
8. Follow directions and communicate well with the kitchen team.

Position Requirements:   

1. Understanding of food safety and sanitation per Hawaii State Department of Health guidelines.
2. Proficiency in knife skills and fundamental cooking methods.
3. Basic understanding of meat, poultry, and fish butchery.
4. Ability to cut consistent portion sizes.
5. Must possess a current TB clearance.
6. Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs. and wear non-slip shoes.
7. Comfortable in hot and humid environments for extended periods.
